I just finished the very first turkey for 2010!
He is available for a new home and has just been posted on Etsy.
I love how he turned out.
Took way longer then expected ... as usual ... but, was so worth the wait.
I am now taking a few orders for custom turkeys.

BuTT UgLee is back in business! I just added three new items to My Etsy Shop.

This is a pic of Lyla's tummy!
I'm often asked how I decide on what to create next. I typically start each morning with any commissioned orders I many have. Once they are in the works and the paint is drying I move on to what else I my have ready to paint. After looking at that "stash" I have to decide if I am going to begin painting a character that has been waiting OR grab the muslin and jam on something new.
On Sunday I decided, for no reason other then the fact that it was Sunday ... to make a big fat bird and a sun that was around the size of the one I already have in my shop ... BUT ... add a cute cloud boinging out of the top of his head. I was on a mission. I had everything designed, sewn, cut, clipped, stuffed and eyeballs added ... all by noon. Later that evening I applied the first coats of paint and let everything dry overnight.
Monday morning I added more layers, waited and waited, added more layers and waited a bit more. Finally ... by dinner time I was able to seal both of them, take measurements and name them.
This morning I took photos and here we are ... all loaded on Etsy.
This is Madori. The big black bird.

Below is Jack, the bright yellow sun, with the coolest blue polka dot cloud boinging out of his head.
So I had to Google this guy. I wasn't sure where the eyes really went ... not that it mattered. I also needed help with the location of the tusks and proper placement of the tail. I know ... none of this really matters. The FIRST BuTT UgLee Elephant looks the most or is the closest thing to an ElepHant you are going to get for now. Hum ... you never know where tails, tusks and eyes are going to end up next time??!!
I had the best time making him! I actually giggled when I figured out where the tusk and eyes were going to go. If someone told me at 46 yrs old, I would be doing something like this, I would have thought the were a little off base. I can't wait to see what I come up with when I am 50 yrs!
Here is Rain.
If he is sold, by the time you get there, you can see him posted under UgLee IteMs SoLD!. If you want your own BuTT UgLee ElePHant let me know. I can create one just for YOU!
I am a full time artist and mother to a 20yr old daughter named Sam and a 114 lb Bernese Mountain Dog named Lilly.
