The chicks are here! The chicks are here! The chicks are here!

The chicks are here! The chicks are here! The chicks are here!

You have to go see Charmin!
She was listed on Etsy this morning.
(Her story will explain the absolutely ridiculous title of this posting.)
*******************************************
This is Charmin.
Charmin is a BuTT UgLee jellyfish. (duh ... I don't know why I always add this line.)
The whole piece measures 13" wide and 15" tall.
I love, love, love making seaweed. Not the nasty brown seaweed ... but the rockin' bright green, happy seaweed. The kind of seaweed you would want to have lunch with.
Charmin (she) is a member of Fly Ate a Pie sorority. Her real name is Dot. She earned her name Charmin one evening while slugging Lemon Drops at the local Red Robin. Dot excused herself from the bar, skiddered off to the ladies room and did her business. Unfortunately ... she did not notice the rather long comet of toilet paper following her back to her bar stool. This did not go unnoticed by the rest of the crowd including her Fly Ate A Pie sisters.
The rest is history.
*****************************************************
I also added Thor ... A super handsome Unicorn/Pegasus.
I have no idea what is in his sack lunch.
Today we will be working on BuTT UgLee chicks! Wait until you see them!!!
They can hang OR stand on their own two feet!
It appears that at least 8 UgLee's were abducted from the studio this morning. Photos of their escapades were plastered all over my sister's Facebook.
Even the cat feels violated.
And here I thought I was "a few crayons short of a full box." I think she's too excited about the Steeler's game tomorrow.
poor ... poor ... Ginny

If you'd like to see a few more, go check out my website BuTTUgLee.com!
Absolutely nothing!
Check out the newest addition to the UgLee gang.
The handsome stallion below is Kato.
There is one thing you need to know about UgLee horse's ... all UgLee's for that matter. Because my photos oh so rot ... you can't even come close to seeing the amount of detail involved in each piece. Horses are a perfect example of this. I use multiple shades and tones of different colors, these are usually softly layered so you won't see them until you see your UgLee in person.
*** This shot is way over exposed .... sorry! I'm learning a new photo editing program ... again.***
For example ... Kato's hind quarters look solid white in the photo, but they're not.
I painted the section magnolia white then layered wide vertical stripes in oyster shell.
The colors are faint but up close you can see it, giving his tush a dimensional look.
It's hard to explain. I had to hold myself back with Kato. Sometimes I get way to carried away with all of the details and can't stop myself.
You may go visit Kato and the rest of the gang by clicking HERE!
I have been agonizing over what colors to paint my first EVER BuTT UgLee trout.
It is taking me forever.
I want to poke my eyes out! Some designs fly out of my head like a rocket. This stinky, smelly, slippery little bugger is slugging along.
Here are some photos of what I have going on ... so far.
I was originally inspired by an Orvis catalog, that arrived at our home, over the holidays.
I love to flip through catalogs hoping that I find some inspiration for a new design or color combination.
Orvis has a mind boggling selection of fish related items.
When I saw the four different trout they featured, and their colors, I went nuts!
Since taking this photo I have added a few more details.
I'll post Mr. Trout to my Website and Etsy as soon as he is finished!
You have got to check out this awesomely unique shop I found on Etsy! The name of the shop is Tortoise Loves Donkey ... can you believe that? I thought I was nuts.
For some of you, their shop may bring back a few memories as it did for me. I grew up in a family that loved to camp. We would spend hours collecting small bits of dirt, moss, rocks and driftwood ... even a few salamanders. Our mission was to create a small terrarium to take home as a reminder of our trip ... at least until the next one.
I never knew air plants existed until I found Caitlin's shop. I flipped! Jumping out of my skin would be putting it mildly. I want one ... what a great gift ... everyone needs one ... how about a collection ... a gift for that friend who already has everything.
Sweet Mary! Life is good. Time for a nap.
Here are some pics of my favorite items ...

LOOK! I managed to dig up an old photo of me, my sisters and my mom at one of our camping sites!
I am the blond in the middle. My younger sister Meg is on the left and my sister Beth is to my right.
Here are some additional photos of the mayhem.
If you are totally confused (as I am everyday) read this blog post first ... then the pics today will make sense.
This is a nice wide angle shot, taken from the window, looking more towards the door. It's so nice to have room for a space to sew and a separate space to paint.
Below is a shot of the work area. We pushed two banquet tables together, covered them with brown butcher paper and created a skirt (made with two Target table clothes velcro-ed to the edge) to cover all of the major crap hidden underneath.
Here is a wee peek at the space, hidden underneath. The big, stacked drawers are from The Container Store.
Random Mess ... yet everything serves a purpose. Check out the super STARS!
They look awesome hanging with your UgLee's! Coming soon to Etsy.
We leaned large bulletin boards against the back wall. They help keep the paint from splattering hither and yawwn, but what I like the most ... is it gives us a space to tack up photos, sketches and reminders.
This is a shot of one of the shelves in the studio. I placed a small black and white photo of my sister, Beth, and ME! Beth is on the left and I am on the right. We are standing in front of our childhood home. I think we look like rug rats.
For those of you who don't know ... I now live with my sister and her family in Wexford, Pennsylvania. We are now buddies in business. You have NO idea how much fun it is to play in this studio together!
The art work you see on the right of the photo is a beige tile we must have drawn on when we were little. You can see it is titled "Man." My version of a man is on the left and my sister's is on the right. We are 18 months apart in age. Can you believe the difference?? Mine looks like a monster shitting his pants ... oops ... he has no pants. (No wonder I have had two husbands and she has been married to her high school sweetheart for over 25years. I am trying to be funny here.)
Last but not least ... This is my LiLLy. She is a three and 1/2 year old Bernese Mountain dog. I tried to get a shot of her in the studio ... riiiiight ... she was just too big to get a full-on shot ... even in the space we have. I snapped this pic when we took a break for lunch. She is a sweetheart!
That's all folks!
The holidays are over. The kids are back at school, and the decorations are coming down. I have no idea what has happened to me since late September, but I seem to recall ramming my head repeatedly into "builders beige" drywall, while asking the Gods why someone so short (I'm 5' 2 1/2") was expected to bear so much weight. I think they just snorted, let out a few gas bubbles and asked for another round.
Creating during all of this mayhem has been challenging. Too many distractions have kept my juices from flowing as they should. It has been very frustrating ... especially since I now have the space to create and the extra set of hands, my sister Beth, has so enthusticatictly made available to me. (We have sOOO much FUN!)
That said ... we did manage to make a whole bunch of progress without realizing it. Sounds crazy, but I'll show you what I mean. It is a MESS ... so no smirking, or feeling better about yourself because our hell looks worse then yours.
Hold on for just a minute ... I'm going to run up to the studio and take some random photos of what is going on. Then I will post them ... I'll be right back...
*** Quick side note - I just had to Google ... Gods Drinking Beer ... just to see if something can up. Check this out! Oh ... the crap you can find online! ***
I'm back! Here are a few random photos ... I am working with a new photo editor so please excuse the crappy photos
This is a shot of my cutting and sewing surface. (above)
Here is a wider shot of the same area.
This is a close-up of my newest treasures ... a print from Murphy Adams (the print has a caption that reads ... My God ... Your FuLL of CraP) and a huge mound of handspun, hand-dyed mohair from Funky Yarns.
Eyeballs waiting to be attached and the book I am currently reading ... Glad No Matter What written by SARK ... one of my most favorite authors on the planet. I have most of her books and have taken a few of her online classes.
I have many more pictures photos to come! Stop by tomorrow to see more!
Time to head over to My Etsy Shop ... I'm ready to post a new angel and a CLAM!!
I am a full time artist and mother to a 20yr old daughter named Sam and a 114 lb Bernese Mountain Dog named Lilly.
